Screening Guidelines (this means you have not been diagnosed with these conditions):


  • Blood Pressure - should be checked at least every 2 years with a goal of <120/80 mmHg.


  • Lipid Screening - every 5 years or more frequently if risk factors are present. 


  • Diabetes Screening - fasting blood glucose should be checked every 5 years or every 2 years if risk factors or present.  


  • Cervical cancer screening - should begin at age 21 and continue every 3-5 years until age 65.


  • Breast cancer screening with Mammography - should at a minimum begin at age 50 through age 74 biennially; women 40-49 may choose screening based on risk factors.  


  • Colorectal cancer screening - should at minimum begin at age 50 and continue to 75 with at risk groups beginning much earlier. 


  • Osteoporosis screening - recommended for women aged 65 and older. 


  • Prostate cancer screening - individualized for men aged 55-69 years. 


  • One time screening for abdominal aortic aneurysm is recommended for those 65-75 who have ever smoked.

Immunization Schedule:


  • Influenza - yearly for all adults.


  • Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (TDAP) - one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years. 


  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) - one or two doses for adults born in 1957 or later without evidence of immunity. 


  • Varicella (Chickenpox) - two doses for adults without evidence of immunity. 


  • Zoster (Shingles) - two doses of recombinant zoster vaccine for adults aged 50 years and older. 


  • Human Papillomavirus (HPV) - two or three doses depending on age at initial vaccination for adults up to age 26 years, and shared clinical decision making for adults aged 27-45 years. 


  • Pneumococcal vaccines - PCV15 or PCV 20 for adults aged 19-64 years with certain underlying conditions and all adults aged 65 years and older. PPSV23 given at least one year after PCV15 if PCV15 was used.  


  • Hepatitis A - two or three doses for adults at risk or who want protection. 


  • Hepatitis B - two or three doses for all adults aged 19-59 years, and for adults aged 60 years and older based on risk. 


  • Meningococcal Vaccines - MenACWY or MenB for adults with certain risk factors. 


  • COVID-19 - initial vaccination with boosters as per current and ever changing guidelines. 


  • Haemophilus Influenzae type b (Hib) - for adults with certain high risk conditions.
